Casting for Alone Season 7 is Open!

I know that a lot of folks are interested in trying to get onto the Alone show, so here is some information for you! There was a social media post being spread around recently, but for those of you who aren’t Facebook or Instagramers here is the post:

Disclaimer: I am merely a fan of the show and am in no way affiliated with HISTORY or Leftfield Pictures.

I definitely recommend doing a little research to figure out the way to have a tip-top application to the show. I am not an expert, nor do I have any insider tips, but I do know one thing – applying for shows like this has stiff competition and it pays to put some effort into making a good impression. The past contestants have made comments here and there online about applying for the show and I’ll link some of that below.

The most recent is Sam Larson’s post on his blog about applying for the show:

And here are some videos that you might find helpful!

I think it pays to do a lot of research if you’re serious about this sort of thing. There are small bits of info here and there that you can find with some googling. Anywho, good luck and have fun!!

Thanks,

Captain Airyca

  1. Hi Dave!

I started watching Alone with Season 2, and I was pulling for you to win all the way. Admittedly, the final show was a bit of a tear jerker and got me hooked on the show. Congratulations!

Anyway, I was curious I you had any insight you could share regarding the finer-grained rules for Season 7? Specifically:

    1) If more than one contestant makes it over 100 days, will they each get $1M; will they split it between them; or will they continue to stay out there until there is just one person remaining? And, under the latter scenario, could it be possible that one or more people remain for more than 100 days but get nothing if they are outlasted by another?
    2) If no one makes it more than 100 days, is there still going to be a winner and payout for the last person standing? And, if so, would that payout be at the traditional $500k?

As of this writing, we’re at Episode 8 of Season 7 and these details still aren’t very clear from the show, the History Channel website, or anywhere else I could find on the web…so I thought I’d give you a quick shout out to say “hello” and see if you had any additional insight.

    Thanks, and congrats again!

    1. I don’t have any special insight into the rules for season 7. I’m as curious as you are how that all plays out.

    yours Tommy

  7. Omg! I just watched your season the last few days. I was cheering so so hard for you!! I really liked Jose and Mike and Nicole as well, but, man, I just wanted you to take it all!! Me and my daughter sat there and bawled when Erin appeared. It was truly a beautiful moment. Good for you, dude! Completley happy for you! I think if Larry would have won, I seriously would have been in mourning the rest of this week. Way to go!!

  8. Hey dave thanks I was in talks with Ted Baird and Jim and both said the same thing. Sucks tjo I really want to be on the show

    1. Sorry to hear about this. Just curious, what was your initial contact with these people? It sounds like someone is trying to scam the casting process.

      1. Hey Dave. It’s Dalton Lewis they called me and said I was picked. Where do we go from there and I called Dorothy Jackson and didn’t get a call back.

        1. Dalton, I don’t have any involvement with casting, and I don’t know Dorothy Jackson. Be careful that you are actually contacting the correct casting people. There are unscrupulous people out there that claim to be the casting department but are actually third parties and not the real thing. Nobody should ask you for money at any part of the process.

          Dave

    1. I was born on ranch with an uncle that was a noodles. I spent 14 years in the Navy. I love being outside and I know how to start a fire with little to nothing.

  9. Dave
You have a great show (assuming it’s yours given you continue to reply to the dumbasses repeated replying to be on the show)
I am a big Jeff Probst and Survivor fan but having watched the last 6 episodes of Alone season 6 in the past 3 weeks… they’re a bunch of pussies! Alone fan from here on out!

  10. Hey, Dave! I just wanted to let you know that I was really rooting for you on season 2 and I was so glad you won! Well, I root for everyone but I was definitely really happy for you (and your kids). I love the program and am so impressed with the skill, creativity, and determination by almost all of the contestants. I look forward to (hopefully) many more seasons. I would never apply to be on it but I do like to imagine what it would be like. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

  11. Are contestants compensated for the time they’re on the show? People do have bills that need to be paid in a timely manner.

    1. Yes. Due to the NDA I can’t say how much but they do make a weekly direct deposit while you are away shooting the show.

  12. I have noticed that it said be prepared to be out for up to one year, but what happens if more than one person is left at the end of that year? Do the remaining contestants split the money? I’m sure I have what it takes because I was a boy scout and have many survival skills!

    1. I don’t expect it to ever last a full year. Reality happens at
around 3 months. If you think you have what it takes then apply and I hope you get a shot at it.

      1. This is curtis Davis from morristown tn .I live in Danville,Ky now .my dream is to do this show I love it.it is the realistic tv show ever .an I would love to give it a try an do my best to achieve it to the top.i believe in my heart I can be the last man there ..I know survival tactics. From shelter buildings…to trap building…plants to eat …how to act around wild animals…I have survival skills I’m 47 years old ..I survived 6 an half months in the north Carolina mountains all by myself. I was around 30 at the time it was winter time when I went in the mountains..mentally and fisicly. I was …an I still am.ive hike mountains for weeks at a time .from blue ridge mountains to the mountains in main..I know I have what it takes to climb the ladder to alone with no doubt in my heart……would like to know how to apply to the show alone …if anyone can help me call or tex ..4235886552 is my number …..or Facebook. curtis davis. from morristown tn.thank you.

  13. I think I would be a good choice because I love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and living off the land

      1. Just an idea! I love watching the shows, every episode and the extras. I have very little experience in the outdoors. I have learned a lot watching the shows about survival, foods you can eat, shelter, water and how to keep your mind at ease. It would be an amazing idea to have a season with experienced contestants and very raw survivalist contestants. Pairs of two dropped off in the same area and together try to survive. I would apply in a heartbeat! In the meantime I will start to learn and teach myself the skills to survive ALONE in the wild and I will continue to enjoy your show. I believe it would make an amazing series with the hardships of getting along together for one, but also the newcomers giving up too easily and dealing with taking orders from the veterans, sharing chores and work together and obviously the whole idea of the show with television viewers who think they can handle it. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thank you and look forward to watching the next season.

        1. Casting for season 7 has closed and I don’t think they have started for season 8 yet.

The correct place to start the process is the following

“To learn more, please email alonecasting@itv.com with your name, age, contact information, location, and a brief description about your survival expertise!

You will be emailing Leftfield Entertainment, the producer of Alone. Leftfield Entertainment may use your information to contact you about the show or other opportunities that it believes may interest you.”

  14. I sent an email inquiring about being on the show. I Been watching the show for years now and what I think the show needs more people like me. No special training/courses. Everything is self taught. I would also like to know is there’s a fee to be a contestant on the show? I applied a few weeks ago and they was asking for money. Maybe it was a scam website not sure but I didn’t reply to the email.

    1. I have also applied for another survivor show in May and have a contract signed already for next year. But I would rather be on Alone. It would be a dream come true..

    2. Good luck with the casting process, be patient, it isn’t fast. I was not asked to pay anything and I’ve never heard of any fee. I find that quite odd. Where did you apply that they asked for money? If that was a scam site you may not have applied for the show at all.

I’ve never taken a class or course on bushcraft or survival. I’ve learned plenty from being with skilled people over the years but it was always on an informal basis. That said, there’s nothing wrong with taking courses. I taught basic, intermediate, and advanced survival in Brazil. We had students come with varied skill levels from novice to very advanced. Our goal was to get them to the next level. We would also get students who were very advanced in one or more skills and we learned from them.

  15. Please inform me what is required to be on season 7?
I am very interested in being a contestant.

      1. Hi,

Does the show alone work with a company called RealityTalent.net to help cast for your show and other reality tv shows.

        Dawn

        1. Dawn,

Aside from being on Season 2 I have no connection with casting for the show. I believe ITV does their own casting.

      2. Hey dave I sent an email there and I was called and asked if the lady was the director how would i describe myself and then got an email stating someone will call between 9 and 1 tomorrow but i must be willing to pay the 297 casting fee and send 7 photos

        1. Full Stop. I have never heard of a casting fee. I did not pay anything. The process was a written application, phone conversation, Skype conversation, background check, other phone interviews and finally an invitation to Bootcamp. At no time did they require us to pay money. To me this seems like a scam. Sorry but my advice is to not write anyone a check.

  16. I would do good for the show. I’m a great hunter. I would like to experience the survival alone to see if I could do it.

  18. I know that people in the USA think that Canada is one big state but it is not! You state on the show ALONE people from the USA come from a town and a state. But people that come from Canada, you state that they come from a town or city in Canada. Well they come from a town or city in a “province” in Canada. We have provinces like you have states.
    With due respect;
    Walter McBrine

    1. Right on!! Thanks for pointing this out, so many U.S. shows do that, actually, not just Alone. I don’t understand this, the producers of all these shows are insulting the U.S. citizens, really, assuming they are not with it enough to be able to figure out a town and province, without mentioning the country. Give people a little credit….

    2. I think you are confusing the contestant from CA (California) with Canada! I had to look twice at it also before I realized the difference.
